We also go through some helpful things you can do when coming off the pill to assist your body and tune back in.

Welcome to the 31 day #exercisehabit challenge

Ze Mountain climber are legit my fave core exercise – seriously. Ever since I figured out how to ditch the booty pop {aka anterior tilt} I feel so much core connection when I bring that knee to elbow.

You should really feel the shoulder to core connection happen with these mountain climber bad boys so lets get to it- remember to tuck your tail sweaty friend and let’s get to it!

The thing with exercise is that there’s a very distinct pattern Charles Duhigg talks about in his book The Power of Habit

The Habit flow char goes : cue ➡️ habit ➡️ reward 🔄

So let’s take the time to create a sustainable habit.
The reason that habits tend to fail often times is that we put too many things on our plates at ones cause we try to #doallthethings at once!

But this year let’s take time to slow down and do one thing at a time that’s gonna help us get to our best selves and connect body mind and soul but in a #trendy way ya feels?

The problem with doing #allthethings is that we end up exhausting our willpower before we even have a chance to use it effectively – that’s why small changes like 5 moves a day work so well – it’s so small it tricks the brain into thinking “why not” and then it starts to crave it.

If you’ve bounced on and off the exercise wagon {2 weeks on to shredded abs – 3-4 weeks off laying on the couch} I promise you’re not lazy you’re just missing the important facets of habit building – So …

On my insta I’m always makin smoothies and such and I get oh so many questions asking what some of my staples are!

Obvi I had to make a video to show you what I include almost daily.

And yesss I do use it as a meal replacement – but only kinda sorta! I need more food than that cause #alwayshungry so I usually make that as my break-the-fast food at around 2 pm {cause intermittent fasting girl ✌️ } and then I have another lunch or protein soon after that!

When I was choosing my YTT { Yoga Teacher Training } it was legit one of the most stressfull decision of my lyfeeeee – and yes I’m serious! way more stressful than choosing a University lol {mainly because I was #slackin and didn’t care about my uni degree and I considered my YTT a life changing decision but more on that in another vlog fo sho}

Here is a lil pep talk I wish someone had w me when I was choosing where and with who to do my Yoga Teacher Training. {psssssttt the secret isn’t in how many chakras your teacher can name – although that doesn’t hurt 💁🏼}

So often awareness comes from the external world – can we take some time today to make it a bit more of an internal practice – ya know – really #connectgirl

I want you to think through the beginning of the practice – even keep your eyes closed –
think about each movement and word I am saying rather than just watching and following on the screen – be keenly aware of every movement – all of your muscles and that are engaging or stretching 💪

It takes more work to work the little muscles than we think don’t ya know eh? #socanadianeh

Before you jump into this class I would like for you to carve out a bit of time to #bodyconnect and answer these questions in your designated journal and then don’t forget to re-answer them once you have gone through the flow!

This is more #storytime of a time when awareness became super important in well- basically-survival 💁 – {to put it in as dramatic of terms as possible 😏 }

My other half had an issue arise when he hit his head and because of his impeccable body awareness when he is on the ice playing hockey he was able to know enough and know that he wasn’t ready to play yet.

Jill Miller- {my wonderful teacher} boldly states {in almost every training I’ve taken or assisted her in}

‘you can give someone the zipcode of where it hurts and the where the pain is but only YOU know the exact address”

Ever had an AH-AH moment about connection? Well buckle your seats for another! ?

In this flow we play around with some of the Fascial Lines described in Monday’s talk  ??‍♀️help create some of those Ah-Ah moments. Some Spinal Line work to help you picture some of the connections within our bodies. Like HELLO- opposite shoulder to opposite hip! With how intertwined we are it kinda becomes a which came first the chicken or the egg scenario {the shoulder or the hip?} What do you think?

Clearly I have a weaker shoulder and a stronger shoulder ?‍♀️ – do you?? Find out more about your shoulder & Down Dog on April 17!

P.S. As you listen to my horse breathing in some of the shoulder moves as we link movement to breath – think about how the diaphragm is entangled with the shoulders and how they can affect each other via those spinal lines!
