Wild thing/ Wheel — flip over to Wild Thing are fancy & fun looking poses but how can we stay safe while playing around?
I get this question a lot & I thought I’d address some of the ways that I suggest my students stay safe in class ??♀️
☝️The key is always listening to your body & knowing what areas should be firing.
As a new yoga student these were my favourite poses yet I was actually hurting myself not helping myself. Find out what I suggest to my students now & then check back in for a flow into Wild Thing on Friday! ??♀️

We carry the weight of the world on our shoulders so much of the time but do we take the time to care for them? ?
HOLY COW ? { you’ll get that after the flow hehehe } will your shoulders thank you after this flow.
Let’s start to pay attention to some of the weight we shoulder daily!
This is the next in our beginner flow series but if you’re an athlete don’t fool yourself- shoulder work is no joke. ☝️ Mindful proprioception of specific muscle groups & taming the monkey brain are advanced practices that trick you by dressing in beginner clothing!
So go on- pull up a mat & let’s Sweat & Yoga together for healthier shoulders all around!?
Do you often find your shoulders bugging you in long holds of down dog? ? & I’m not talking arms shaking because you’re working muscles but uncomfortable hurting and pinching? Fear no more ….
Something called joint cent-ration is so important in keeping the shoulders safe in weight bearing poses such as Down Dog & Plank. Don’t want to create a chicken wing {get it???} — & if you don’t check out the video from April 10th !

Why is it called the Superhero muscle? {truth be told I may be the only one that calls it that *guilty* ?} What’s a winged Scapula? What does it feel like? Find out all that in Monday’s video It explains those Q’s- P.S. You’re gonna wanna watch thet vid first to be in the know. ?

If you suspect you have a winged scapula do go see someone in person – this is just a general overview & an account of the things I learned in my yoga practice & teaching that has affected me **
Until I discovered what was happening in my Serratus Anterior & Rhomboids I was at a loss of why my shoulder clicked when certain movements happened. {handstands were like a shoulder symphony ??♀️}
Getting in touch with your body & understanding why/what/when/where & how – being a detective of your muscles, organs & tissues always puts you at an advantage.

Ever had an AH-AH moment about connection? Well buckle your seats for another! ?
In this flow we play around with some of the Fascial Lines described in Monday’s talk ??♀️help create some of those Ah-Ah moments. Some Spinal Line work to help you picture some of the connections within our bodies. Like HELLO- opposite shoulder to opposite hip! With how intertwined we are it kinda becomes a which came first the chicken or the egg scenario {the shoulder or the hip?} What do you think?

P.S. As you listen to my horse breathing in some of the shoulder moves as we link movement to breath – think about how the diaphragm is entangled with the shoulders and how they can affect each other via those spinal lines!

So many questions lately about shoulder mobility & safety in Yoga!
As a result I figured this was a great topic for bringing us through April as the Spring air makes us want to handstand everywhere.
Keeping safe & mobile in the shoulders is a lot more complex than we give it credit for. This is made evident by the amount of fascial lines that cross & intertwine & increase the complexity of the shoulder joint!
This video is a SUPER simplified outline of 5 of the lines that I find super important for shoulder mobility & starting to think critically how what you do on one end of your body can affect the other end & I’m not talking’ food input & output {hehe}
These lines are:
* The Front Functional Fascial Line
* The Back Functional Fascial Line
* The Superficial Back Line
* The Spinal Fascial Line
* The Deep Front Line
So check out where these connect so you can start to think a little more critically about how these lines of pull affect your day to day movements. ??♀️

Apparently lots of you guys and the peeps doing The Final Reset have other people you don’t want to wake w your practice. So I get this request a lot. I listened & designed a flow that helps you move & work ? but quite enough not to wake the hibernating souls around ya!
